DAY 1: ROUTE OF THE SILLAR

We will start this tour at our meeting point. Once all the passengers are in the vehicle, we will start the Ruta del Sillar leaving the city towards the Añashuayco quarry. Here the guide will give us a series of explanations about the process of extracting the ashlar, the stone with which most of the constructions around the Arequipa main square were made. Also, we will have access to information about the carving, carving and mega-carving carried out by master stonemasons.

Afterwards, we will go to the Culebrillas ravine, a quarry that is not being exploited, but which we can explore for 20 minutes through a small canyon formed by water erosion. At the end of the tour, we will see some petroglyphs that we can admire and photograph while our guide gives us some explanations. Then, we will return to Arequipa to end the tour.
